Coding question about folding mirrors (using BimmerCode)
For context I have a 2021 F48 with convenience feature. Currently I need to hold the door handle 'button' for a few seconds and then the side mirrors fold. In BimmerCode I see a coding option for "Fold/unfold mirrors automatically". Separately I see an option to reduce the delay before locking/folding. How do these differ? Does the first immediately fold the mirrors without any delay (when the car is locked)?

Other than being a smartass and telling you to code it separately and let us know... I had coded it before on my old cars and it "seems" to start folding as soon as I lock the door. I stopped doing that as with these icy cold winters it's really not good to fold it and I just manually do it when I feel like it now either by touching and holding the handle or holding the button on the remote (or pushing the button inside the car when I park). There is a "time before closing comfort" which is the time between touching the door and locking which I think is 2 or 3 seconds by default? I've shortened that on this car since the delay seems longer than our older cars and the tendency was to pull on the handle and it unlocks only after (ie we were too fast). Now it's back to perfect timing for us.

Hah I appreciate that reply. I am actually leaning towards just shortening the delay and trying that first as well. I live in a temperate climate but think I like having the option to have it fold or not.

Another problem with setting the delay is that you cannot turn the tilt sensor off if you have an alarm. For ferries
I went with a delay of 0.5 sec, makes me able to double press lock for turning tilt-sensor but at the same time I can choose the to fold the mirrors when I want without feeling I need to press forever.

More thoughts to consider....the auto fold on lock is just that, the mirrors fold when you lock the car with the remote fob.
The CONVENIENCE fold is for when you use the key in the door lock cylinder or the CA (comfort access) ridges on the door handle. You can delay this for the reasons already mentioned or for others like if you want or don't want the windows and sunroof to start closing, too. You may want to do a delay in order to keep one or the other slightly open or ajar while still folding the mirrors and locking the doors but not shutting the sunroof & its shade.

Thanks. Great feedback. My current plan is to not enable auto fold. I will enable convent close and enable comfort access for both door and remote, and set delay to 0.5.
