How did you find doing the mirrors? Would love electric folding mirrors, but don't think I have the confidence to do them myself.

Hehe, well we see, really depends on the price aswell and don't have the money for it now and the car is aging aswell, but still looks good though.

I would say it's not too difficult actually.
The hardest part was opening up the driver door switch to solder the board. Using this method you save pull a wire to the BDC from the driver door. Another nice thing is that you can prepare this switch with little risk before buying the 2 mirrors.

Removing the doorcard/-trim takes also a bit of time the first time and some 'do I really have to pull this hard, I hope I don't break anything'-moments but if you have done it once you feel much more confident for the second door. All in all, not too difficult but takes some courage and time to do.

Difficulty 3 or 4 out of 10, being the 4 mostly because of the switch. Definitely a 3, maybe even a 2, if you come through soldering part.

Now my X1 is in full Norwegian winter mode.

It started with an install of some extra light which is almost a neccesity with these long dark winters and forests.

Then the snow came and put on the skibox on the roof

I’ve just bought a storm bay x-line trim so it has chrome rails, grill, window trim etc
Would like to change the grill for shadowline. What do you think about the trim near the fog light and rails and roof bars? Should I get those wrapped in black too?

I love my black X1 because everything is black, only thing I keep chrome is the kidneys because I think that it makes the grill stand more out as a BMW.
