Local tune shops bay area
I was contemplating a BPM tune until my buddy advised I look into local tune shops. His reasoning was differences in gas/air in the region, not blowing up engines, and being able to go to the shop in case of issues rather than wait for email.
I actually live very close to Dinan shop, but I haven't heard anybody even talk about them on the forum. I have a fully stock car right now, just looking for the easiest non-invasive change to maximize the engine capabilities for every day driving. Recommendations?

I've been a big fan of Dinan. I've had them in one capacity or another on all my BMW's.

Dinan, Alekshop in Fremont, and P-Tech in their new Dublin location (just moved from Pleasanton, don't know if they're taking new jobs yet). These are probably your best choices for your car. I wouldn't go to SonicMS anymore. They've changed owners a few times over the past 12 months. Not the same anymore.

So you don't need the ESS tune with your ESS SC? I think I'm going to SC with ESS eventually so I'm wondering if I should just use them for the ECU tune.

Alekshop in Fremont is a great local shop. He just had an open house on Saturday and it sounds like you missed it. I live a mile from Dinan in Morgan Hill and I use them for machine shop services on various engine builds. Top notch machine shop.
