Effect on fuel consumption
If someone could explain me the technical details of the gear ratios and how it influences the fuel consumption, that might help on my DCT vs MT decision.
MT: 6th gear: 0.85:1 DCT: 6th gear 0.84:1 7th gear 0.67:1 Final drive: identical So question is: does the 7th gear with a lower ratio cause a huge fuel saving in the real world? Or is that a factor that could be overlooked as the weight of the MT is lower? Thanks for your assistance

I'm far from an expert here, but my take on the very "long" top gear with any transmission is to bring fuel savings. My expectation would be that the DCT brings 2-3 mpg savings over the MT.
