S54 Valve Adjustment - anyone have a shim kit?

Shim kits for these things are like 500 bux and i don't think I'll need more than a handful of them. Doesn't make sense to buy a whole kit...anyone have one I could buy some shims off of in the SoCal area?

Do a search, I seem to remember a vendor who sends the whole kit for a deposit and charges you for what you use upon return.

Here is one option: http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=940446

Here is another option, WiseCo makes shim kits. They are the same diameter as OEM shims and same size ranges. I heard about them from M3Forum. Here's the link:

You can find the kits on amazon for $40 bucks. It takes more than one kit to make up the number of shims contained in the BMW kit. Some of the kits are not labelled VSK4 but are the correct diameter of 8.85 mm on amazon.

The shim kit comes with a lot of sizes you'll never need.
You can buy individual shims.
I've done a couple of adjustments, and haven't used anything outside of:
2.28
2.32
2.36
2.40
2.44

I rent out a full kit that contains the shim kit, shim installer tool, feeler gauges, and a micrometer:

Another member has it at the moment, but you're welcome to it as soon as he finishes up.
