Going square - best place to buy oem used wheels?
I want type 262 17"x7.5"
(2011 128i sport package rear) Most of the reman and used oem sellers' BBB ratings and user reviews are scaring me away. The local dealer wants $400/wheel for new wheels . Last edited by 2tonik; 02-17-2014 at 02:44 PM.. |

I searched this site and all I found were old FS posts. Didn't see any current 262's in 17"x7.5" FS.
Edit - I didn't search specifically in the FS forum - maybe that's the issue. |

I don't know what size tires you want to use all the way around but I put the same size tires on my fronts without changing wheels. Mine are 17x7 in front and 17x7.5 in back (2009 vert with sport) and I went square with the back tire size with no problems. Tire rack's website said it would work and my local tire place agreed.
You might not need new wheels, in other words.

JimD -
Interesting, that mounting 225's on the existing front 17x7" wheel can work. I'd prefer (for OCD aesthetic reasons, if nothing else) to have matching wheels all the way around. It would also allow for full rotation front to back to maximize tire life. Thanx for your input |

Tischer, Reeves, United are all good places(I'm sure I am forgetting someone). Just look at our forum sponsors - they all have good deals.

I've got a complete set of 262's that came off 135i coupe. I believe they are 18's, should fit nicely with a 128i, and I'm in Virginia. Will let all 4 go for$320.

spain4065 - thanx for your reply
I'm really trying to stay square at 17x7.5" and 225mm tread width - less weight and inertia to spin up.
Are all four of your 18" 262's the same width? And what is that width? TIA |

Not bad - Tischer shows $577 for two - $220 cheaper than my local dealer
That's for new wheels - a safer choice.
Leaning towards going with Tischer - thanx for the suggestion |

I bought a refurbished 264 on ebay from a reputable seller for $125. It looked brand new.

GetBMWParts, TheBMWPartsStore, and TomkinsonBMW all are good OE online parts suppliers.
