CRAZY bright LED on DCT lever

Just had my DCT lever and controls replaced under warranty and the LEDs inside are insanely bright. Cabin brightness control does nothing - does anyone have any suggestions?

Also - in case there aren't any - info on how to disassemble so I can sharpie the LED or mask it off somehow? It's so bright you can read in the cabin at night. INSANE.

I had mine also replaced on warranty and it lights up normal
