This video was taken during the M3 Experience at the Ring described in my report in the Generl Forum. In fact, I believe I was in the car that passed the car from which this video was taken.

Is it true and possible that the lap time was "about" 9 minutes? how amazing will be one day to see for the first time, the video of the lap-record (about 08 minutes)??can't wait...

You are right. It was car numbers 1 & 2 in the second to last group. This video doesn't to the experience any justice IMO. I just want to get back out there and drive them again. I was in the same car only in the next lap. Fritz was awesome.

the lap was BTG 8:13...if you take into account the drifting in some corners and the low speed due to some construction sites we come up with a rather 7:55 or even lower..this would be around 8:25 on the whole lap...not too bad. especially if you see how perfectly the car is balanced in the difficult sections...

substract 10 sec for cup tyres and another 10 for more aggressive driving in a supertest situation, then we should well be at sub 8:10

looks like bmw did a good job!

Very impressive!!! For those of us over here in the states with little exposure to "The Ring", it really gives an awesome impression of this track and even more respect for the F1 drivers who used to routinely race it!

can you help telling me in which minute and seconds you start and finish the lap? I am not able to find these steps...or the signals on the track.
Many thanks

Many thanks
the bridge is at -9:07 the gate is at -0:54

so bridge to gate time 8:13 min
from the gate to the bridge it is a full throttle section will take around 25-30 sec in this car...but they could not do it...they had to go through entrance section...the lap is fully open only in races, or when the track is booked for doing test etc.

So if this is the first prove that it is possible to make a LAP TIME at 8.13, in two on board, normal tires and joking and speaking a lot, can you or the others agree that an 8.03 could be possible without CUP TIRES for a single and skilled pilot? I find this time in this video SO INTERESTING after your reply!!!So could be that the 8.03 (provisional) was obtained without the CUP tires???

don't get me wrong...the 8:13 is BTG..so 25-30 sec shorter than a normal lap... so around 35-40 sec slower than the mentioned 8:03

And the "G" in "BTG" stands for gantry and not gate.

It's "bridge to gantry".

I'm curious, does anyone know what the highest approximate speed achieved during that drive was?
