Angel eye bulb going bad?
So I noticed my driver side headlight isn't as bright in the outer ring and now when I unlock car and lights come on the driver side lights shut off first. Is this a sign of a bad bulb or should I look for something else? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

If the bulbs were going to go bad, I think the car would notify you that the bulbs have dropped below a certain voltage unless of course it is coded off. The car is suppose to do a bulb check during startup which is why when you do the LCI taillight retrofit, the lights flicker during startup because it is doing a bulb check.
If you have any doubts, you can go the cheap way can upgrade your angel eyes for like what, 30 bucks? with some GP Thunders, they'll give you the white angel eye look. Then there is the LUX angel eyes as well as the open headlight mods out there.

So not sure if the car does a bulb check at start up or not. The only time my LCI light update flickered was when I turned my turn signal on. Can anybody else confirm whether the car will throw an error code for lower wattage bulbs?
I went ahead and ordered new bulbs since these are going on three years but still curious if that is the underlining problem or not. |
