Osram D1S CBI 5500k
I just installed the Osram CBI bulb in m M3, and the light output is not as white, it's quite yellow like the OE 4300k units, what's your experience? Will the bulbs get brighter and more white after burn in?

It's been about a week since I've had them in and have done night driving at least 4-5 of the nights over the past week, and there is a little change in output color, still not significant.

okay, I've put 4~5 hours on the new CBIs, and it's getting a bit whiter. I read you need at least 20~30 hours before the bulb will finish break-in, so we'll see.

Trust me, give it a few weeks, they will turn pure white. They wont be blue but they will certainly change color. The performance difference is noticeable right away.

Are these pretty much the best bet for Xenon replacement?
I recently got OSS headlights on my car and am looking to swap out the Xenon bulbs for something that will match the LEDs on the OSS a little better. Luis at OSS recommended Phillips 6700k bulbs but I cannot seem to find them. |

yes, these are suppose to be pure white after break-in with no loss in lumens.

It's quite simple actually, you'll need to jack up the car and remove the wheels. After the wheel is removed, you'll have to remove the wheel liner, which is nothing for a few plastic nuts and screws. After the wheel liner, you'll see a black plastic cover secured by a few torx screws, remove that and you'll have direct access to the bulb. It shouldn't take you more than 1/2 hour per side.

These need to break in. But you'll love em after 20-30 hours of use.

The pure white in these bulbs looks stunning with 2500K AEs that I got coded so they don't dim when the headlights are on.
I have an extra pair of D1S CBI bulbs that I'm most likely going to install in my E60. |

Has anyone run into this issue before? Can anyone confirm that it is a simple task to replace the bulbs? If so, I'll give it another go, but it seemed nearly impossible without removing the headlights. |
