How to remove lower bumper Cover Grill?

Hey fellas,

Had a question on how do i remove the the lower bumper grill. (not the kidney grills).

I ask because i recently purchased Gloss Black Kidney grills but the bottom black grill does NOT match the new kidney grills. So i am thinking about taking the lower bumper cover grill off and using plasti-dip - first black and the the plasti-dip gloss.

Or if someone can tell me where i can buy a gloss bumper cover grill for a reasonable price.

You need to remove the front bumper. The lower grill is clipped in from the back.

I haven't taken off the E92 M3 front bumper but on my old S2000 I got it down to 10 mins. The Mugen full CF took maybe 15 minutes to take off.

I cant see this being longer than a 20 minute job.

Yes it comes off from the back. You should be able to remove the center felt splash guard (piece under bumper) and reach around.

saw a lime rock edition with that lower piece completely off was a good look
with the shiny radiator back there not sure how safe it would be to run like that though.

It's easier and less time consuming/frustrating if you just remove the front bumper to get to it. I ordered a new one from one of the OEM stores on the forum. I think it was around $60. Then I spray painted it gloss black. Doesn't look like much of a difference when you paint the new one, but when you lay it side by side with the old one the difference is huge.

Bumper has to come off for the grill to come off. I did both front and back grills on semi gloss. Look great

Not safe! Sounds like a good way to lose a cooler/rad!

get yourself some good pics/trim tools and you can push it out w/ out removing the bumper. Then turn it a little and wiggle out the front. It's easy to remove bumper but just as easy this way too

Post the pics.

I'd like to see how this looks; it's never bothered me before, but if it makes a nice visual difference I might consider it.

You wouldn't be able to tell the difference in a pic. You really notice it when you're next to one that's not painted.
