Inspirational Detailing Effort

Just saw this over on the E89 side of the house and wanted to share it.

Any time someone removes seats in the scope of cleaning, its probably gonna be impressive and they took lots of pictures...

Amazing! I thought I was (and nearly everyone who knows me considers me to be) picky. Now I feel like I need to tackle a detail like this.

Exactly! People shake their heads at me cause I detail even the engine bay, but man o man, this guy went above and beyond

Awesome! A couple new products to try.

But what's with the ///M door sills and steering wheel badging? They never made an E89 M did they?

No, but they put M stuff all over the place on the cars with the M-Sport package. They're on the steering wheel, door sills, wheels and I think a few other places. Not just on the Z, but damn near every model in the showroom.

Last time I walked through a dealership, I thought I'd accidentally fell into a bag of M&Ms.

I'll make sure to show this to my neighbor next time he comments about how often I wash my car. I can't imagine doing this though, I'm ready to pass out after a good wash and wax. Maybe if I was retired or something and had a week to wash my car. Amazing to watch though.

Very inspirational indeed but there's a line you have to draw somewhere knowing the second you take the car back out it'll get dirty again very soon, ie the wheel liners. But if I had the time and resource I would definitely love to set aside a nice Saturday afternoon for something like this.

I probably wont go down & polish the tool bag tucked into the battery compartment, but it did give me a real hankerin to go detail my engine compartment.

I will never ever go that far, but I am truly inspired by anyone who does. Gives me ideas for my Spring detail coming up soon. Great share, thanks!

I wonder how much a job like that would cost?

I thought the 8 hours I spent detailing my 3000GT was rough, this is crazy. I did some minor paint correction on my Z and after doing that and reading stuff on auto geek, I can't stand finger prints on my car. I keep a bottle of detailing spray and a polishing cloth in the trunk and wipe off finger prints whenever I have a passenger ride in the car.

I would assume with that much detail over 1k. Twenty-eight hours of fine attention to detail work wouldn't be cheap.

Wow! Taking out the seats to clean the rails. I've thought of doing that myself because I just can't get all the sand and crud out but that has got to take a couple of hours so I just try not to look at it as I get in and out.

Hehe. I've considered carrying detailing spray with me but I decided to just try to be Zen about the whole thing since, really, no matter what my car is never QUITE as clean as I'd like it to be. And having the car in the CA desert its dusty five minutes after I wash it...drives me crazy.

28 hour detailing job at roughly $100/hr, $2800 bucks for a spotless car...

I wish my entire car was as nice as his battery compartment...

Inspirational? It makes my wash jobs look like I'm using a bucket of sand.
