Wow why are you selling so fast?
guys, for those interested - the Portland title does not really matter! No matter where you buy the car you will still pay tax based on WHERE YOU LIVE. For CA owners you just need to do a SMOG and pay tax on declared value on the bill of sale. This is a great deal for a virtually new car for anyone in the market!

if you claim you received a 60k car as a gift from a stranger you have no connection with, I guarantee that the DMV will be knocking on your door for some questioning. That's a crap load of tax they could be getting.

If you guys dont want to take the risk then you can lower the value, its up to each individual. Personally i have done this at least 4 times in3 year span and have no problem with receiving gift.

hope the seller realizes that if you were indeed "gift" the car, the donor is subject to gift tax for anything over 13K. so if you have been doing this frequently and IRS catches on, you going to get a nice tax bill from the man plus interest.
