Thought I'd introduce...

...myself and my "new" 2003 Z4 3.0i, triple black with the SMG transmission. First BMW. Wanted one for 7 years and finally got it Has 19k miles. Unfortunately already having a minor issue...but I guess a nearly ten year old car that's sat most of its life is going to....will post the issue in another thread. Look forward to mingling with fellow Z car owners!

Car looks great! Unfortunatley, that's the problem with low use, low mileage cars. Unless you have a documented history, or knew the previous owner, it's hard to say what service intervals might have been overlooked. A lot a owners pass on them thinking the car doesn't get used enough to justify the expense. Do you know if the fluids were flushed regularly? Gas (especially the way it's configured now) is perishable and when it sits for long periods of time can wreak havoc on a car, particularly a BMW. If it already hasn't been done, it wouldn't hurt to change the oil, differential, transmission fluid/oil etc. Just some things to consider.

PS I lived in Lake Oswego for 10 years.......I sure do miss it....this time of year.

I was thinking the same thing...maybe take to a good shop and have something similar to a 60,000 service or ppi

Awesome car by the way

Thanks for the compliments & insight. Thinking my issue may be sensor related (see my other thread above this one)...will find out today.

The SMG is pretty awesome. Quick shifting...with sport mode on this beaut is truly a pocket rocket. I don't know why folks out there don't like it. I guess maybe cuz there's not a clutch pedal??

KLH: Yea the LO isn't bad at all...plenty of car eye candy for sure! Still raining...

Nice ride! First time I ever drove a Z4 back in 2004 it was an SMG version and it was tons of fun! I am a fan of the SMG on the E46 M3's!
