Hi,
for those guys that are running Methanol injection on their cars, we are able to supply Meth' to you at a cost of $2 per litre. Having purchased my own Meth' in the past, I can tell you that $2 per litre is a bargain. As you can see we have few spare litres if you just happen to be using a decent size tank in your vehicle, or one of our soon to be released in-boot "stealth" tanks for that matter. Cheers, JD. |

Got to say a huge thumbs up for the MOTUL radiator concentrate. Car is running very well.
Justin I'll probably grab some of the WURTH engine flush on my next oil change/service with Pete. I understand it's meant to be put in immediately prior to a change, run engine for a bit, then change the oil? |

that is how it's meant to be used, run the engine for approximately 10 minutes after you have added the contents of the bottle to a warm motor. Then replace both engine oil and filter, after immediately dropping the warm oil. If you are running a high quality oil and changing both oil and filter on a regular basis, it's not a product I would recommend using often. If however you have infrequently changed your engine oil, or are now moving away from a low quality oil to something like our Motul 300V CHRONO, it's certainly a worthwhile procedure. Cheers, JD. |

JD, are the Mocool and Brake fluid a good idea? Will the higher DOT fluid have any adverse effects on daily driving?
Also, how often should one be swapping out the spark plugs? Thanks. |

both the Motul MoCOOL and the Motul RBF600 are suitable for daily use. If using the MoCOOL in a very cold climate an antifreeze would also be required. The DOT 4 brake fluid is fine for a daily driven vehicle, providing the brake fluid is changed on a yearly basis. It is DOT 5 fluid that poses the biggest risk, with absorption of water from the atmosphere. You are best to change spark plugs every 20,000 km. Any chance of stocking something for cleaning the carbon build up off the valves and maybe also performing the task?? I know meth injection and an occ will reduce the problem but can that also remove the deposits that are already there?
I have seen seafoam mentioned a lot by the US members but not sure other alternatives. Would need more than one person to do it as well. |

The flavour of the month for carbon cleaning appears to be using a domestic sandblasting machine with walnut as the cleaning medium.
I too would be interested in something like this |

You're gonna have to remove the engine cover and get down and dirty with a wire brush. I sell them for $2 each. Pistachio is my pick

I will check with my lubricant suppliers if they can get me this stuff - they get me the 300V for wholesale. Otherwise, I'll place an order with you. Is there anything else I should be changing on more regularly? I'm trying to track down a reasonable quantity of SAF-XJ diff fluid at moment (less than 20L) to do frequent changes there and also frequent gearbox oil changes. Thanks again. |

Btw as a preventative measure you should get meth injection as it flows past the intake valves and helps dissolve any carbon buildup. No troll, meth is actually GOOD for your engine.

we can supply a Wesfil WACF0053 cabin filter that is almost identical to the OE unit. The retail cost is $59.99 inclusive of GST. Here are some pics of the filter we have already installed into a few vehicles. Cheers, JD. Last edited by Justin@ADVAN Performance; 07-23-2012 at 11:32 PM.. Reason: Typo |

you are correct in that Meth' injection and a quality OCC will help reduce carbon build up on inlet valves, but unfortunately it does nothing for what is already there. The use of Seafoam provides a small improvement at best, based on the before and after pics I have seen. I would not recommend using it. Quote:
from what i have read it would seem BMW dealerships in the US are now doing this, as are one or two private individuals. The use of "walnut shell blasting" has shown some excellent results, but it's a costly exercise and I do not know if any dealerships have undertaken the procedure here in Aus. |
