Z4 GT3 at the Nurburgring
I ran across this video of a full lap of the GP circuit and the North Loop.

Nice drive/laps... Thanks for sharing... It seemed to me, while the Z was slightly lacking the straight speed and acceleration of the Porsche, it had a better grip and was better in/out of the corners...

The first lap on the GP part of the track traffic is compromising everyone. Then on the north loop part the Z passes 2 911's, and pulls away. |

Could also be a better driver than the guys in the Porsches. He was definitely braking later into the corners. |

+1 Although the high speed edge is very, very slight, if that's what it really was. It almost seems that the Z4 had a slight disadvantage trying to accelerate from behind and through the Porsche's wake, because by then the 911 could get in front of him. And yes, the Z4 seemed to have slightly better brakes - maybe it's the weight distribution. From about 8 minutes on it was really great to see that thing FLY!

This was the car driven by Claudia Hurtgen, Alexander Sorlie and Jorg Müller Which finished 9th, behind 4 Porsches, an M3 and 3 Audi R8's (not in order)? One of the Porsche's is Sabine, the other is a Porsche Cup car. Total field was 117 cars.
All in all, a pretty good showing considering they qualified 18th. Last edited by ChuckB; 02-20-2012 at 01:46 PM.. |
