Brake pads sticking on BBK - Advice please

I have the AP Racing 380mm BBK installed on the front of my E92 M3. They have proven to be an excellent addition to my car and provided fade free braking on several track days last year.

However, during these last few months, when my car has been parked up for longer periods of time, I have noticed that the brake pads do not appear to fully disengage from the disc itself and bond slightly. Then when I do use the car I get an uncomfortable bang as they separate. I have checked the pads (standard AP Racing pads) and they appear to be fine with no permanent marks on the disc itself.

I did have a separate issue last year with resonance caused by the pads rubbing the disc slightly but this was resolved by AP Racing. My concern now is that they may have resolved one issue but caused another.

I would like to ask whether anyone else has experienced this with their BBK setups?

Thanks

I have not experienced this. Good luck troubleshooting.

Pretty typical for big brakes to do this in moist air.You need to drive your car more to keep to discs clean. It is even worse with Race compound pads. After washing your car make sure to drive the car & use the brakes to dry the brakes out.

I notice this on some mornings with my StopTech BBK while backing out of my garage. It's not necessarily a loud "bang," but it makes a pop noise that you can tell is a slight bond between the pads and discs breaking.

What type of pads do you have on your ST BBK? Street perf? track pads?
