LUX h8's throwing a code??

Hey Guys/Gals,

Installed my new Lux angel eyes last night, they look 100% better than stock!

Issue is, after install and a successful first night of no codes...today every now and then I get a warning icon that looks like a headlight with a two way arrow on top of the icon?? I'm assuming this is related to the LUX angel eyes or do I have a different headlight issue? Angel eyes work & Xenon headlights both seem to work even when the warning message is on... anyone else experience this??

2008 135i

Thanks for the input!

Sounds like adaptive headlight failure.

Test it out -

Make sure the covers are installed correctly and the power source boxes of the LUX aren't getting in the way of the adaptive headlights.

Thanks for the reply! Just tried it out. Driver side headlight seems to turn normal to the right.. but possibly just stays at center when turning left? A little hard to tell. Also just noticed driver side headlight has a decent amount of moisture inside the lens. Car hasn't been in rain recently but I did go through a car wash earlier. Passenger side has no moisture after install of LUX and headlights seems to turn both ways just fine. Car is still under warranty, scheduled to go in for service next week. Just wondering if this is caused by the lux install?

Tried to take a picture of the warning. Any other advice would be welcome. At this point I get this warning (pic above hopefully) and noticing some moisture inside lens. Thanks guys!

Edit.. Pic sucks, not sure why its so small. I'll double check to make sure the power source on the lux is out of the way. Covers seemed to be installed correct and on tight, but there is moisture in the driver side so possibly maybe not? Thanks again

Could just be a freak thing that it happened after I installed the LUX.. but both power supplys seem to be out of the way and now that its dark out neither side appears to be "adaptive" and the small green light above the adaptive/auto headlights is flashing. When I bought the car used the guy had mentioned he had to replace an adaptive headlight.. maybe they went again?

I took the driver side back apart, gently blew it out with bottled nitrogen and put in a small little moisture absorbent package in. So far moisture is gone from inside the lens so far... When it goes in for service I might think about throwing the factory angel eyes back.

Without a doubt, remove the LUX before you take it in. Dealers are known to use any excuse in order to shift the blame, if in fact the moisture wasn't caused by yourself.

They will also look at the history and pick up this has happened before and probably replace it

And what were you doing going through a car wash anyways!!? The sacrilege!

So I posted this exact same problem just a few days ago. I installed LUX and driver headlight housing filled with moisture after a car wash. I had to put back in factory angel eyes and take it in to dealer because the driver headlight went out completely.

Thing is, if you put the cover back 100% properly, how would water enter? Just doesn't seem possible.

During the summer months I always hand wash.... but I'm not dedicated enough to hand wash the salt and grime off when its freezing outside!

lseven, seems like we might have a similar problem on the driver side. Right now both headlights are working, just get a random adaptive headlight warning. I feel fairly confident in saying I had the cover installed correctly, but who knows. I'll let the BMW boys fix it this week
