Active E hood
I like the subtle bulge on the hood of the Active-E. It appears that it would fit with no problems. Now to research the cost.

Good luck. I don't think it would be as easy as getting one from an ActiveE owner, those are leases and they kinda need it I think.

This has been raised before. I believe the end result is that BMW will not sell you one...

So if you wreck an A-E, where do the parts come from? BMW, or maybe an outsourced body shop? BMW p/n 41614881303, I will have to investigate this some more. May be a waste of time, but one never knows!

Active Es are leased - wouldn't BMW just be repairing something that they own and therefore have no need to actually "sell" them to anyone?

I have seen the hood in person. It does not look good. The bump is way to wide, nothing like the M3 bump which is more aggressive but not as wide which makes it look much better.
You will reconsider it if you end up actually finding one and putting it on the car lol. |

I don't think you need the actual hood off of an ActiveE, what needs to happen is someone with an ActiveE to take it to a tuner shop that could make a replica out of CF or something.

Yup, I know that's why the bulge is really wide. I was just stating it would look retarded on a 135i lol.

The A-E hood is one of those "oh, that's different" moments. Sometimes things stand out, after looking at the same thing over and over. Yes, the M3 has a bulge, looks maybe, my M5 doesn't!!!!! I guess the 135 does not need one either

no, but it needs the bulge in the hood to clear the intake. I personally think the bulge looks cool but like other people who have posted in here have avoided it as it is non functional on a 135i, but that isnt to say you shouldn't go for it on your car. It is a subtle styling and is not offensive or 'poserish' like upbadging your 135i with an M on the trunk etc.
