DEPO help!
Is this a bad route to go? I can get the regular DEPOs for $300 but they also have HID equipped DEPOs on Ebay for a bit more. The only thing that bothers me is potential issues with the HID kit (errors/not working) as time goes on, compared to just the stock DEPOs where I can just upgrade the AEs.
Let me know. Here is the link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-08-11-B...#ht_9419wt_897

there have been so many problems with the depos. If it was me, I would just go ahead and ask the ebay seller if it has any code errors. You might as well buy the headlights with the HIDs. if the HID give codes or errors, you can still just put in normal bulbs and get it to work?
it also seems like they don't accept returns, only swaps if your unit doesn't work, so you might want to think about that as well edit: also, **********s sells an error module fixer for 39.99, so you could just ask them to buy that

No, hid projectors focus the light narrowly. Halogen bulbs wouldn't be as good. But hid bulbs and ballasts arent complicated or hard to find or replace. If the housing is well built I would go for it. Usually its the ballasts that give problems.

Yah its either this or go for a rear 135i bumper painted for $300 from a body shop that I came into contact through Ebay. (which is a hell of a deal) and they are reputable.

Ah nice, I was thinking about doing something like that too. But I decided I wanna change out the headlights first. I saw that you mentioned you could upgrade the AE's on the DEPO's how would you do that?

I don't know. I originally had the okay that it was possible in June but I messages them in Dec. and they said they can't do it anymore... I have no idea why and they ignore all my messages.

I just installed the Depo's with a MTEC 6000k HID kit and upgraded the AE myself with some small side firing LED's. You can still see the 4 "dead spaces" on each AE. Also the picture was taken during daylight in lightly shaded area. Take a look! I can get some night photos tonight if you want.
