Your thoughts on stock EDC versus springs / sleeves / coils?
My e92 will be here in a couple of weeks and I wanted to hear opinions from drivers on the feel of the stock suspension with or without comparison to other after-market setups such as H&R, KW Sleeved Setups, and KW v2/v3.
I've run PSS9's on my last few cars, they weren't an excellent track coil, but for what I did - drive on the street 99% of the time, they were excellent! -How is body roll on the stock EDC setup? -Do the EDC modes make a noticeable difference in damping? -Does the addition of After-Market sway/strut bars significantly reduce body roll or is it minimal? (I hear people put e93 bar on e92?) For those of you who have used the stock suspension for a while and have moved to something else, please elaborate why you moved to a different setup and why you enjoy it better, if you do at all. -Which suspension setup did you move to? -What makes it better? -Why did you buy it? (Experience with suspension, hype, your friends have some, you wanted 'moar low', they handle much better, etc Thanks! |

EDC makes quite the difference. I put H&R springs on mine. IMO sleeves are a total waste of money unless you are a track addict.

Pretty much. Car already handles well. Springs will increase the stiffness a bit and give it a nicer stance. I'd like to go lower but the money for coilovers isn't worth it just for a lower stance since I don't track the car.

I have an '11 Vert went with the Dinan Stage 2 the drop was perfect from a cosmetic standpoint, and the handling was dramatically improved no complaints

I have Dinan stg.3 and love the setup for my purposes, street/track live ability. Drove on track a few times with stock suspension and think its great, the only thing that seems necessary if you're going to track are camber plates as this car does push quite a bit when pressed. I find the stage 3 to be a bit more comfortable than stock but it's the camber plates where the improve in handling really takes place as the stock suspension is quite good. Also, the edc modes are quite noticeable to me, even after the spring install. To sum up, no track=springs, limited track/street=camber plates/sleeves, lots o' track=coilover. Hope this helps a little.
