Locating the reverse light switch on the transmission

Hey everybody,

I'm new to the forum as I just got my first Z4 this fall. It's a 2005 3.0i 6spd roadster with ~20k on it. I'm loving it!

I noticed that the reverse lights don't turn on in reverse gear(6spd manual shift). I've checked the bulbs and all the fuses as well, so I'm going to safely say that it's the reverse light switch on on the transmission.

Has anyone had to replace this switch? Is it accessible from under the car or from the area around the shifter boot? I've done some searching without any luck on finding an answer to this.

Thanks in advance!
