Folding US plates into EURO style plates
Hello I walked into the beemer store and I noticed the new z4's have thin plates.
So I inquered about them since I have never seen those. it turns out one of the salesmen has been folding us plates so they look like euro plates. and they fit perfectly where the bumper grill goes. I spoke with him and said has had no issues with police and has been doing it with x6 z4's m3's etc. it looks so much better than gomini plates! I will snap a picture when I get a chance. does anyone know about this? Edit: I folded mine and here is the result Uploaded with ImageShack.us Last edited by rkstar9; 12-24-2011 at 04:58 PM.. |

Cops don't find these plates very funny. I would be skeptical about what that guy says.

it is a very cool idea if you were in a state that doesn't require a front tag.

What they do is they merely fold the edges around the number of a regular plate. top and bottom. guess modding your plate in any way is illegal the question is if you can get away with it. Yes In Chicago at least they have people walking around looking for cars parked without front plates. I guess I will fold some old plates I have laying around and see how it looks |

Sounds pretty sketchy to me. Then if you do get a ticket and have to change it back it is going to look like shit as well.

I would rather rock the front plate legally and save the $50 for a special euro plate and save all the money from future citations towards mods.

In Texas and Oklahoma, as long as the letters and numbers match, and you have the legit plate in the car, you're golden...

While North Americans are looking to have long skinny european plates, in Switzerland some people want to have the US style. Go figure.

I think he means fold the top and bottom to make it narrower top to bottom. Don't think you can make it wider side to side.
