Difference 2006 3.0i and 3.0i other than HP/Torque.

I know they both use the same engine, different intake manifold/tuning, and the brakes are a bit bigger on the 3.0si.

However, how about in terms of options/standard equipment? Was there anything standard on the 3.0si that is an added option or not available on the 3.0i?

I think you could option up a 3.0i to include most things from the 3.0si. But, the 3.0i may not have had things like 18 inch rims, zenon lights, bluetooth, chrome exhaust tips, etc. Those I think had to be added as options.

From what I've been told and read the 3.0si comes standard with leather, 18" staggared wheels, silver kidney grill, and a sound generator. Those are the only things I know of anyways.

For the drive train the si comes with a 3.23 final drive and the 3.0 has a 3.38 (manual tranny, roady.).

Interesting. There is a 2006 Z4 3.0si I was looking at on my lunch break that had black kidney grills and black surrounds in the headlights. But it had Xenons, 3.0si on the side, and red leather interior. Very strange.

hmm, previous owner must have switched them, the M54 2.5i and the N52 3.0i were supposed to be the models with black headlights and grills. Another thing to look for to be sure is the sound generator going to the firewall.

I thought the 18" staggered wheels were included with the sport package?

edit: did the 2006+ 3.0i still have a 5 speed like the 2.5i?

I replaced my silvers with black. Just like the looks of them better.

straight from my 2007 z4 sales brochure...

p.44

"Xenon headlights... the BMW Z4 Roadster 3.0i features black headlight surrounds, while the Z4 Roadster 3.0si and Z4 Coupe 3.0si display graphite-finish headlight surrounds."

i believe all halogen lamps were equiped with black surrounds.

actually all "I" had the black surrounds, halogen or HID, all "SI" had the shiny chromish grahite surrounds with HID and halogen reguardless of headlight option.

Yep, the lower trim level had black, the higher one had silver, the M had both (chrome/silver/shiny light housings with black grills).
