Personally, the stock calipers aren't worth painting.

I wouldn't paint them yellow or red but have thought about repainting them black again just so they look a little better. I actually putting on my stud conversion today and will be cleaning up the whole wheel well area and making the decision if painting is needed or just a detail.

I don't track my m3 so I don't see the point of spending 6-8k for BBK!! Just and a different look without breaking the bank!!

I saw a car with painted stock calipers and it looked good from a distance. Up close, they just looked like painted calipers. It's cheap and worth doing.

Don't do it...Period. Cheapens the look of the car...

If you want to bring some attention to your brakes only way to do it is rocking a true BBK setup!

the finish you end up with wont be anywhere near what the stock is. it will probably peel off or look poorly. that being said i did it on my x5 just black but they were looking pretty beat up and it turned out okay.

I wouldn't do it. I thought it was a terrible idea. Then when I was in Lima I stepped into a new Frozen Black... looked around admiring the car just to see this:

Is it weird I didn't think it was so bad then?

Frozen black M3s in the UK are also being supplied with red painted calipers.

looks ghetto. Repain in black or get a BBK. Any other color looks gay. Maybe ok for a Honda Civic hooptie, not on a $70,000+ European sport sedan. Just my HO.
