Do note your kit is for iDrive equipped cars. The non idrive kits do not have the cut out bellow the shifter.

Yeah, after comparing the photos with my car (non iDrive) it clearly won't fit. Bummer, because I was really looking forward to an ashtray, and a lighter/12v socket would have been nice, too. (There's only one, in the arm rest, on the 2012's.)

i don't think it makes a difference. the shifter trim is only denoted by auto/ manual/ dct. Please correct me if i'm wrong

I don't have poplar trim... which makes using just half the pieces a little weird. It was already a questionable look (mixing the piano black -- dark gray? -- of the base 2012 128i with the grey poplar.
