some pics of my vt2-500 z4....

anyhow alittle background.... picked her up brand new in 2007, where its been used as a weekend car all its life, it see's regular track action, but is pretty much used on the dry, warm weekends... i Decided that the z4m offered a package that is imo rare in todays sport cars and i just love the s54b32 engine, its got to be one of the best engines ever produced again imo.... so to swap to mymuch wanted porche 997 gt3 rs, we talking my car plus well over 80k, so i decided to build my car into something unique, its turned out really well, we did internal work and used the ESS s/c kit and the car made a healthy 450rwhp @ 7900rpm, the car uses vortech's gigantic Si Trim self lubricating V3 (it has its own oil circuit) so no heated engine oil, this unit is capable of 775bhp @ 25psi, so my 450rwhp @ 8psi isnt even breaking a sweat on this thing, again a well over the top fmic and oil coolers keep temps bang on, maybe slightly lower than stock and rock steady even in 30 deg c heat... The car currently runs a rpi straight pipe exhaust system which is suitably nuts and lost an huge chunk of weight.

Needless to say not much is left bmw in the engine bay anymore, but all wiring was done using stock bmw sheathing, and my stipulation for the build is i dont want a single hole added anywhere to the car that wasnt their from factory, including the addition coolers are all fitted to existing fittings....... its Taken neartly 4 years to get the car where she is today... ALL parts have been purchased wih heavy discounts, group buys, and this car really hasnt cost a fortune to build....

i purchased some genuine CSL wheels refinsihed in gloss gunmetal and went with composite wheel nuts (sad i know) and ARP stud conversion which allows spacer fitment to generate room for my AP 6pots front and rear.... stock suspension is in place with camber plates set to -2.5 as i hate lowered vehicles, and i really love the way the car handles from the factory i just wanted more. We fitted a tiny lightweight battery and added some really low key stack pro step gauges to keep an eye on things, the stack wideband AFR is really neat...

so after all my time and effort, the car stops on a dime, handles like a dream, has serious power for a 2 seat sports car, but the most impressive part of the package is the low speed manners, this thing trundles around at low speed all day long wth far greater manners than it ever did stock, idle is digitally smooth... really pleased with her, currently standing @ 10k miles and looking as good as new, i can honestly say, their isnt a car on the market that i can currently afford i'd swap it for...... Saving for my mp4-12c... lol

enough of my rambling..... here she is, hope you enjoy. my Supercharged bmw z4m... 450rwhp @ 8psi and counting... (please note car makes 1 psi more than it should do)

note 2 ( quite afew parts have been replaced with higher quality items to really get the perfect install on the kit, iv painstakinly moved, moved then moved literally every pipe to gain what i call the perfect fitment)

enjoy

note kevlar re-inforced pipework visible on cam cover top hose :-) visible in pic 8 from the bottom, on the higher pics you can see the stock rubber that came with the kit.

I always wondered why they had to move the power steering fluid reservoir...

Then I realized it's for the supercharger oil supply.

Its not :-) its the powersteering tank :-)

The s/c has its own oil circuit completly independant of the cars oil.

Excellent write up Beedub, enjoyed the read!

The car looks wonderful and I certainly appreciate all the work that has went into it.

Any videos of you tearing it up on the track? Or perhaps some track stories even?
