BMS Stage II Exhaust E86 M Coupe $1,200 (TX)

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
SOLD

I'm taking my BMS x-pipe and rear exhaust canisters off the M Coupe this weekend, and they are up for sale. Taking the Coupe closer to stock, as I'll probably be selling it at the end of the year.

More pictures will be posted once I haven taken it off the car. They were installed Sept '09, about 6K miles ago. Car is a weekend vehicle, so it doesn't get much use.

Looking for $1,200 (+ shipping) for both the exhaust and x-pipe, which is cheaper than buying just rear mufflers from most aftermarket vendors. It's like getting the x-pipe free

Here is a quick video of the car starting and a rev to about 4K.

Here is a thread and dyno chart from Earl who was the guinea pig for this system.
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...&postcount=952

NOT my personal exhaust (or picture), but here is a picture of the exhaust canisters and x-pipe from Bill in GA who has this same setup.

Attached are 2 pictures of the exhaust as as currently installed. Exhaust will work on E85 M Roadsters also.

UPDATE:
The exhaust is off the car, so here are more pictures of the x-pipe and exhaust canisters. You can really see the difference in the x-pipe when you compare to the stock section.
There is a small scratch on the bottom of one of the tips from going into a parking lot. You can see it in some of the pictures.

Sorry to hear you're thinking of selling your car. But things in our lives change and sometimes that requires other changes I guess.

Any drone with this setup in the 2,600 - 3.400 RPM range (or at all)? I'm not as familiar with this setup as a few others, but from the clip it sounds great--a bit more rasp than stock, better low RPM rumble, and a bit louder w/o being too loud.

I adored this setup on my Coupe. Sounded like angry bee sex haha. Wonderful system at a reasonable price!

Edit: Launch with BMS exhaust (Xpipe and mufflers)

I may actually do the opposite of you and sell the coupe and get an M3 for a couple of years. After having an E39 M5 and going to M School, the V8 M3 has been calling me for 2 years.

There is a little drone around 3,100 RPM, but every exhaust including stock seems to have that. It's just more noticeable with the louder aftermarket exhaust. I liked the sound and the audible reference when I was blipping the throttle for a downshift.

Looking to sell it as a set. If it doesn't sell as a set after a couple of weeks, I'll sell separately. Also sell sooner if I get someone who wants the canisters, but not the x-pipe.

Unfortunately I spent the morning taking it off the car, and it was the only one (that I knew about) in Houston. I know of a RE Diablo and Supersprint kit in town, but no other BMS.

Since most of ya'll are out of state, I'll look into shipping and packaging options this week. May take until next week as this weekend is my 1st anniversary so I'll be preoccupied

The exhaust has been boxed up and is ready to be shipped
Box is 56in x 32in x 14in and about 60lbs.
Took it to FedEx and it's too big to send Ground, they would have to send it Freight, which is outrageously expensive.

Then took it to UPS, and they will ship it ground, but still not cheap. For those interested, it looks like US ground shipping is about $250 and to Canada is around $400.

I've got Magnaflow mufflers hooked up to the stock x-pipe. Would your x-pipe be a direct replacement?

Holy crap that's expensive! Can you send in parcel post through the post office? I think there may be a calculator online.

I believe yes. I only used it with the BMS rear canisters, but some people just bought the rear BMS canisters and installed to stock x-pipe, so everything I have seen would point to it bolting up to any rear exhaust cans that mated up with the stock x-pipe.

This might be to big for that. their website says "No more than 130 inches in combined length and girth" The length is 56 and the girth is (32+14+32+14=96) so that combined is over 130 inches. And it's too heavy for the balloon price.

Just shipping the x-pipe in that box might get the weight down to allow for balloon price

UPDATE: Went to USPS and this size box is too big for them to ship (Canada & US). Just the exhaust canisters would be fine, but x-pipe is the issue.

I have repackaged the items into two boxes and based on the FedEx calculator I can ship the two boxes ground service within the US for about $175, so for those that are interested that $75 cheaper than when I had them combined.

x-pipe box is still too large for USPS Parcel Post.

USPS is good for small packages
With UPS you want to try to keep the dimensions of the box as small as you can, because you run into "dimensional weight" and "large package surcharge" which ends up making things ridiculously expensive. With so many Z4MCs in Texas, you might be able to find a local buyer. Good luck with the sale. It's an awesome exhaust system.
