Looking for a detailer in San Diego
Are there any top notch detailers in San Diego? I prefer an independent owner operator type of guy. I want someone with a paint/clear coat measuring instrument, some really bright lights and every polishing/pad combination around and the knowledge to use them properly. Someone who you could trust with an M3 or a Ferrari.

The picture is from SoCal Detailer Eric from Envious Detailing. Very well known and respected, and is likely the gentleman you're looking for. |

Thanks but this fellow is not exactly local (he's in Orange County). He does mention he will come to SD. He also appears to heavily focus in exterior work. He mentions interior but has not nice before/after shots on his website.
Any others?? There must be some very talented detailers here in SD.

If he travels, that means he's always local. I know for a fact he's done a lot of work in San Diego and other parts of Cali (as well as Las Vegas). Many detailers of this type show off a lot of exterior work because 95% of clients are looking for professional paint correction. It has nothing to do with not being adequate on interior work and more has to do with market demand for the exterior. If you have concerns with someone's work, the best thing to do is to contact them directly and ask for examples, product information, technique information, etc. You seem to have high demands, which is perfect IMO: that's the exact client I know I like to have. FWIW, Orange Country is much closer to you than many of my clients are to me. I just got back from PA last weekend to give a hand on a 458 and have been as far as Puerto Rico to work on cars. |

i tried 5pointdetail.com who have a place in Mision Valley in San Diego and also go to homes and offices. They did what I thought was a good job on my '09 M3 Civic which I have since sold. The buyer commented on how good he thought the job was. I'm going to try them again soon on my '11 M3 ZCP. They are recommending putting on something called "Optimum" clear coat for protecting new cars. Don't know whether that is a good idea or not. They shouldn't recommend it if it's not a good thing, huh?
