adding "shine" to the bumper?

Hey everyone,
To make a long story short, last service I noticed an inch long scratch on my rear bumper (was not there before I dropped it off), the dealership said not to worry that they would cover it. It was not too deep, I think it just went through the clear coat if that but you could catch your nail with it. I was just there this week for them to take care of it, they called me the next day saying that they had taken it to get it addressed and it came out great, I was happy. Originally the SA had mentioned spot painting that area but I think that what they ended up doing was just buffing the whole bumper. The bumper is still white and shiny, but being as anal as I am (I definitely need to work on that, I am sure it would make me happier lol) I noticed that this buffing might have been done to remove the scratch by removing all of the top layer on it, the scratch went away, but the bumper looks a bit duller. ANything that can be polished on it to bring shine back? I am afraid they removed the clear coat but if so how to I make sure of this so that I can approach the issue with them correctly (so i am not talking out of my a...) Would a nice polish/detail bring shine back and protect it or is in an issue of having to re-clear the bumper? Thanks

it's really hard to say what they did w/out inspecting the paint. pictures may give us an idea of what could be done but the best thing to do is to take your car to a professional detailer in your area and have them check it out. They would have a better idea of whether the shine can be brought back or if it's a bigger issue that should be taken care of or compensated by the dealership
