Wipes for quick touch-ups of exterior?
I'm looking for some kind of wipes to keep the exterior clean between washes (bird crap, dust, etc)
I have some Meguiar's spray and microfiber towels but they're kind of a pain to deal with. I'd rather have some sort of wipe I can use and throw away. Suggestions?

yeah, you dont want a wipe type product like it sounds like you were thinking...thats going to do more harm than good overall.
QD and a plush MF towel will be your best bet to carry around. Put them in the trunk compartment area. you can even get a smaller 4oz finger sprayer bottle instead of the bulky 16oz trigger sprayer bottle to save space |

detailedimage.com
http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...e-P90/4-oz-S1/ might as well grab some other things while you are there at the same time! MF towels, wax, etc. |

Yea i don't see how you could use wipes without a microfiber anyway...if the wipe is saturated with a cleaning solution/detail spray, then you would still have to rub it in/remove it with a microfiber. You don't want it to just cake on and sit on the paint.
Just stick with a spray and microfiber. I like Chemical Guys Synthetic Quick Detailer.

make sure that the microfiber towel you use won't create any light scratches on the paint. The 30 pack yellow mf towels found at costco seem to do that fyi

Also what is the issues your having with using a spray detail with microfiber? What makes you not like it? Are you using this while your car is dirty? After a wash and wax...you could just follow up every once in a while with a spray detail and it should slide right over nice and easy. If it starts getting hard you might just wanna give it a quick wash. Im thinking maybe your actually trying to clean the car using the spray detail. Im not sure, im just thinking of what could be wrong.

MF towel and quick detailer is the best way to go. Shouldn't be done on a dirty/dusty car though, because you're probably just grinding the stuff into the car. I would only recommend spot cleaning in between regular washes.

For the body of the car I'll use something like this with a detail spray http://detailaddict.com/microfiber/d...ber-towel.html As you can see they are more pricey but they are super soft and won't scratch up the car (assuming there's no dirt/dust on your paint). In general though, unless there's some bird crap or other chemicals on the paint that do serious damage, I'll leave it alone until the next wash. Especially since I have a black car, I don't want to risk creating any fine scratches in the paint if there's a layer of dust or some dirt. |

Oh and another thing from my past experience was that using a microfiber towel with detail spray on a car with a good layer of wax on it helped prevent any light scratches as opposed to using mf towel and spray on a car w/out any wax.

Nick from DetailAddict.com is right on. Not only does it help to have a good layer of protection, but using a detail spray along with a quality microfiber (especially the shag-style like he linked) goes a long way. Good towels aren't cheap, but they're nothing compared to the cost of having someone properly polish your vehicle.
