So I guess I am in the market for a M coupe again...

I was waiting for an X5 to turn infront of me from right to left and a guy in a F150 gunned it through the intersection as I was proceeding through. I never even let the clutch fully out. The impact chucked me into a parking lot.

His truck was pretty much fine. My coupe on the other hand...

So be careful out there people!!! This happened in the blink of an eye.

It's kind of ironic as I am very careful here on Mercer Island as nobody knows how to do 4 way stops or what right of way is.

They say it's pretty much totaled.

If they try to repair it, make sure you get diminished value (DV) for the car. Some states require the insurance company to pay DV, but the insurers usually get away without paying it because the policyowner doesn't know to ask for it. I'm going to guess it's not repairable, though, as there's a pretty good chance that the driver-side frame rail is bent.

Another thing I learned from my own head-on-collision experience in my ///M Coupe is to make sure you have really good under-insured/un-insured motorist coverage since most states' minimum coverage amounts don't cover the cost of our cars so then even if the the person who's fault it is has insurance, it's still going to end up on your insurance (covered by your under/un-insured coverage) since theirs won't cover the amount.
