Claying
A quick question. Got the detailing steps down and I understand that the paint correction steps/compounding and polishing would take a few hours but should claying take a full hour +? I'm using Mother's Clay. Would switching to an "aggressive" clay cut down work time or is it pretty much an hour for coupe/sedan? Thanks.

You could do it under an hour easily once you get the hang of it. And no, an aggressive clay won't make things go faster.
Since you have a 2011, there is really no need for an aggressive clay. |

i usually take an hour on almost every single car I do, new or old.
aggressive clay WILL make the claying process go faster, but it will scuff and scratch more as its harder in make up. its sort of like a compound vs a polish in a sense...more aggressive = more damaging. just like compounding will remove defects faster, it will leave the finish in a hazy condition compared to the less defect removal capabilities of a polish but how it leaves the finish better. |

How much contamination are we talking about? I've never needed anything more than OTC strength clays and it's NEVER taken me more than a half hour to do the entire car.
