New Car Smell
My car smell like shit since I fart so much...jk..anyone know of a good product to bring back the new car smell?
I recently bought the Chemical Guy's Leather Scent. It kind of smell like leather and kind of doesn't. But still wasn't the new car smell that came with the car when I bought back in June. I was going to try the Chemical Guy's New Car Scent, but reviews on amazon stated that it smell like engine oil or it wasn't exactly a new car scent. Thanks |

In my experience, new car smell is very hard to replace since it essentially is smells being released from the interior parts of the car (leather, carpet, panels, etc.). So what I do is try to keep it as long as possible by not using any products on the interior at all (just vacuum and dust, and use a damp microfiber if needed for "cleaning" something), not getting carpets wet AT ALL because this starts the slight skunky mildew smell in the carpets (put rubber mats in whenever your shoes are even slightly damp), not driving with the windows down, not having food in car (goes in cooler in the trunk), always keeping A/C on recirculated air, etc. Yes, I know it's anal but it works.
My car is 15 months old and I just forced myself to put some of the BMW leather conditioner on the seats yesterday and I just did that because I really thought like it was time. It has the most "neutral" smell of any of the leather products I've tried. And when I got in the car this morning, I could smell it but that will fade. Hope that helps. There are all kinds of products out there so just find what you like. But the bottom line is that once your new car smell is really gone, it's pretty much impossible to get back.

Get some Wolfgang Leather conditioner. Smell will be strong for a day or two, but definitely works well for restoring the new car smell.

I actually think the CG New Car Scent is good. Best I have ever used. Even bought some for my dad because he wouldn't stop talking about it. Give it a shot, it is cheap anyway. But, don't use a lot. It is strong as hell

I might skip the CG New Car for now and go with their Leather Cleaner + Conditioner to see if that can bring the smell out from the leather. If that doesn't work, I'll try the Zaino Z9+Z10 and some of the above suggestions. Thanks |

Yes by smelling the bottle of Z-10 it doesn't smell like new car, but once you apply it and it mixes with the leather it definitely does renew the scent.

New car smell is mostly from the plastic off-gassing, from what I understand. Plastic has chemicals to make it "soft". In fact, if you've ever noticed a film on the inside of your windshield, that is probably from your dash off-gassing (unless you have a heater core leak). I don't know of a product that will inject that lubricant back into the plastic.
Leather certainly adds to the smell, though! |

Zaino's Leather in a Bottle (Z10). It contains leather oil. Smells great. Best choice!
