X5d JB Diesel - Gas Mileage

My Dad just got an X5 35d and wanted to know what gas mileage people with the JBD modules were getting. He is trying to get the highest gas mileage possible out of the car and was wondering if adding this module would increase the mileage at all. Please report your city, highway, and average mileage with the JBD.

Thanks,
Alex.

TLDR - Post current gas mileage with JDB.

That module is more for power then mileage. I would stick with stock ECU setting for best fuel economy. But if you want more power it looks like a good purchase.

If your x5d is new, the fuel economy will be poor during break in. It will get better once you get some miles on the engine.

I have 18k miles on my 335d, which has the same engine as your dad's X5. My mileage went up significantly over the first 10k miles with no change in driving style.

Tell him the best way to increase his mpg is to enjoy his BMW as often as possible :-)
