X5 E53 steering wheel
Hi mate, anyone know how to dismantle the steering wheel? it has scraches on it and need to upholster it. Please give advice. thank you

You have to pull the airbag, so disconnect the battery, then there are some small holes in the back of the wheel you have to put a small screwdriver into to release the airbag on each side - tricky the first time, then easier after that. This 3 series DIY should help http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11825
Once the airbag is out, there should be 3 small torx screws from the back that hold the trim on that is peeling and then that can be removed and the multifuntion buttons can be detached so that you can repaint or replace it. Good Luck! Rob
