Ordered a 5.0i w/m-sport, carbon black, let the wait begin!

Hi all,

Somewhat new, although I've been lurking for a while. I'm super excited today though, since my order for an X5 5.0i, m-sport (carbon black) is now official, with a production ID!

Now the wait.. no idea yet when it will start production, etc.. I haven't found the 800 number to call to get detailed status, although I have set it up on bmwusa.com.

Do folks call the 800 number to get their production start date, or does the CA have that info?

Nice!! We just picked up a 2010 X5 35d and we are loving it. The 5.0i M-sport (especially in black) is going to look awesome!

Local too I see (I'm in Renton.)

Yep! Did you buy from BMW Seattle?

No, I worked a deal at BMW Northwest. Seattle didn't have any diesels with the 3rd row (at least according to their website) when I started looking.

I bought my E90 335i from Bellevue, but their trade offer was $4,500 less than Northwest (2 vehicles traded in, '03 Durango R/T and the '07 E90 335i.) Bellevue's discount off MSRP with the Eco-Credit was only 10.3% while Northwest's was 12.5%. So Northwest secured the deal. And, Bellevue's X5's were still at least 1 month out, and with my luck, both of my trades would have been hit waiting for the new car to show up.

To be fair, I did buy a 2010 demo with 3,500 miles on it, so that accounts for a bit of the difference in the numbers. But I like the 2010 body style better than the LCI, and feel we got a great deal all around. But in the end, the numbers worked out better at Northwest.

Very nice, sounds like you got a great deal then. Turns out that X5s are scarce around here right now, BMW Seattle had three going into the weekend, and none coming out..

Or course, the weather dipped into the low 60's and people freaked, thinking winter was here already.
