about the top view camera on the x5 50i 2011

hi everyonr I have ordered my x5 50i a week ago and I just wanna know if it comes with round view cameras with the rear view because I have seen 2010 x5 4.8i m package that has it when he put reverse you can see three cameras. I am not talking about side view cameras on the front bumper. I heard that the rear view on the new idrive comes with 3 cameras on the back and 2 under every mirror right and left. can you confirm some one that has already baught an 2011 or 2010 with new idrive. p;ease it is so important to me.
thanks in advance.

I am not sure how many cameras there are in total, but if you get the rear view camera, you do get the mirror cameras. Combined, you get the appearance of a top down, 360 degree view around your car. It is real handy for checking if you are square in a parking spot.

IMO, the best feature of the rear view camera is the assist lines. They are quite accurate showing the tightest turn radius. You simply switch it on, and pull past a parking spot until the lines point to the proper location (either in the spot or just past it if needing two swings to back in. A second set of lines shows the path you'll take at the current wheel position. Use them as you back into the spot and line it up.

You will NOT get a 360 degree view.

There are no cameras on the front of the car. You will get rear and side views from top down. The X5 also has PDC so the front missing camera is not a big deal.

With that being said, this is one of my favorite features of the car. My left mirror camera is a little off though. I think BMW need to do a better job of calibrating them as it throws off your judgement while parking.
