Is there a distance sensor in front on E70?
2009 X5 4.8:
When I put it in reverse there obviously is a sensor along with rear-view camera, but I also have a feeling there's a sensor in the front bumper, bec when I go back in D and I'm close to something, this thing keeps on beeping. I also noticed that this thing beeps a lot even when there's nothing behind me and I'm backing up. |

Yes if you have the PDC option (or technology package), there are sensors in the back and front. Look for the 4 little circles in the bumpers. Both are activated if you put it in reverse or press the button (left most, just above the console).
My 550i used to be a solid tone at 6 inches. The X5 is at a foot. I need to be closer than that to the front of my garage so I still need to be careful and pull forward more.
