2006 BMW X5 4.8IS or 2007 BMW X5 4.8I
Which one should I pick for $36K range? I can pick up a clean 2006 BMW X5 4.8IS with 30K miles for $35,500 and also I can pick up a 2007 BMW X5 4.8I with relative same amount of miles and $1000 more. Thoughts please!

If you're performance biased...the E53 4.8iS hands down! It's sportier and much more rare. Yes the E70 is newer but the 4.8iS, especially last model year, is rare and will retain as good or better resale value than the E70. The 4.8iS is more comparable to your GTS...
As with any used BMW, make sure it's either CPO or has warranty. |

For performance, probably the 4.8is. For my taste, I prefer the E70 platform so I would choose the 2007 4.8i. What a coincidence that's exactly what I have.
