The front bumper is quite a soft plastic - I just made a VERY small pilot hole first and then used a self tapping screw - it really bit into the plastic and the spoiler is rock solid. No glue/bonding necessary and all the holes are underneath so even when removed they would not be noticed

where I went to have it installed the guy said there was no way it would stay on at high speed even with extra screws!!
so had mine screwed and glued - judging by the fact that other people have used just screws I am not looking forward to getting all the glue off esp now the fact that ive got a scuff on the lip!! |

thanks guys! appreciate your help and inputs. I'm heading to our local bmw dealer to have them installed. I have been trying to contact Vorsteiner for help but it seems that most of them are on vacation.

Hi again, how many screws did you guys use in total to bolt the vorsteiner front lip spoiler to the bumper? Is it 8 screws total? I think I saw 4 pre-drilled holes on each side of the cf lip spoiler. Has anyone experienced the clear coat of the cf lip to crack when drilled? Our local workshop called me up awhile ago and is quite hesitant to install them. Please help. Thanks!

Can any of you guys with Vorsteiner Carbon Fiber Front Add On Spoiler tell me how you installed this spoiler? Our local car shop is asking for a step by step procedure and non of Vorsteiner's personnel has answered any of my e-mail inquiries. Please help. Thanks!

Mine is a replica so only made of GRP and not CF so was dead easy to drill!
Made larger holes in the outer skin so the screws sink inside and clamp against the bumper nice and tight. I made the holes in the splitter big enough so the screws had clearance, and drilled VERY small pilots in the bumper and used short self tappers to install. |
