Arkym Carbon Fiber Front Lip for E90 M3 from Pyspeed.com
Hey Guys,
Wanted to take some pictures of my front lip for those who are still undecided about front lips or want another great option. I originally didn't want a front lip, but after talking with Eric@Pyspeed, he told me it fits well and is easily removed if I don't like it. Boy was I wrong about the lip, it actually makes the car look even nicer. I just need to get the M3 Edition black chrome kidneys and side grills in so it'll match everything else! If you guys are on the fence about Arkym stuff, the fit is awesome and their quality is great! Take a look at some pictures including the closeups I took. I have preordered the trunk and hood and now I gotta convince my wife to give me the green light, but shh, don't tell her, haha! Last edited by albert1028; 06-29-2010 at 12:21 AM.. |

I really like this lip, and will probably buy it in the future.
I did have some $$$ lying around last month but decided to get the 64gb 3G iPad since I will probably get more use with the iPad than the lip |

haha, that's humorous! What about the fact that the lip is useful too in that it looks good and that you drive your car all the time, no?

it makes the M3 lose it's lines and makes it look like a regular 3-series. not a big fan.

I want to like it, because I prefer it over the ones that have two points on them, but honestly it doesnt look like it fits really well. The gaps are different, and where it meets the far sides of the bumper... well.. it just doesnt look natural to me

I've seen pics of VRS, Lumma and various replica lips here that have worse fitment than this Arkym version. The question now is, how does the new Challenge lip fits. |

Your post doesnt address my arguement.
I didnt say this was better or worse than any of the others. Just that this particular install/pic/mounting job whatever, doesnt look right to me.. look how clean this is over on the edge: |

The OEM splitters are ugly IMO. They only enhance what is missing from the bumper and thats the front lip.
I have the Arkym lip and I can vouch that it's by far the best cosmetic mod to date.

Question is, would you guys be wiling to pay for $1800-$2000 for a perfect fitting front lip when market avg is around 800-100? I think most wouldn't. I think that some people complain with very little knowledge to the manufacturing process...just look at the iphone 4, how many iphone 4 owners deal with manufacturing plastics and metals? These are my $.02, just ranting, so take this with a grain of salt. |

OP, do you happen to have a shot of the lip before it was installed? really interested what the mounting points of the lip is made of. most arent complete CF pieces.
also the underside of the lip, if the trailing edge extends back to the factory bumper. |
