Where's the option for "No, the lights are fine the way they are."

i think it would look nice im all about the led look it made the e46 body style for 2005 look much better....it might make the rear look more busy...but yet again the stock ones have the nice two line look when lit so it doesnt look bad....we need pics and company that makes one and ebay quality good ones....cuz with me in the bodyshop business i see many aftermarket taillights fitting like shit causing water to leak in ruining wires or leaking into plastic causing condensation lol all things we need to take into consideration. Im kinda in the same situation i want the amber gone in the front headlights dont know what to do with that..

I think it will be hard to beat the stock headlights. Remember, just because something is aftermarket or 'unique' does not mean it will necessarily look better. The stock tail lights are one of my favourite features of the 1. However, if tail lights which looked significantly improved did come out, I wouldn't say no, but it wouldn't be my priority either. |

The horizontal "tube lights that run across the length of the tail light area have LEDs on each end of the tubes and reflect throughout the tube to give the tube light effect" but the brake and backup lights are not. At least that's my observation. Maybe they will do full LED's on the upcoming M135?!

If they kept the cross-tubes, but somehow used LED's for braking and reverse (which I think you can replace the reverse lights with LEDs), then I would be down for it.
I love the cross tubes: |

Oh, and they look great as is so I guess I would fall under "na, I'm poor" or whatever you put as the opt-out.

I love the OE rear LEDs just fine. BUT... while I was in Munich this weekend... I did see an 1-er hatch with some aftermarket LEDs. They were in a block design arrangement. Looked rather cheasy if you ask me. Probably Impro's or FK's lights.
I think they were these.... http://www.fk-automotive.de/$WS/fk-automotive/websale7_shop-fk-automotive/produkte/medien/bilder/gross/fkrlxlbm301.jpg I think BMW did a really good job with the lights. I can't wait to see what BMW does for the 1-er LCI, possibly for the new 1M or what ever they call it. I want to see BIG LED tubes like the X1 or 7-er has now. |

I have looked around for led bulbs but have not found any that people have not claimed "they throw codes"
Anyone find any?

doesnt have to be in block arrangement but there is potential for improvement.
not only that but the new style 3 series , 5 series & 7 series tail lights look much nicer than the previous generation.. If somone manufactures them theres no doubt they'll sell since they'll basically have a monopoly on the 1-coupe tail-light market |
