My Dakar Special Edition M3 on 20's
Hey , I'm pretty new to this place and I was trying to sell these wheels because the wife was scared to damage them but I decided to put them on . These are 20" Axis Super Penta's I had custom painted w/ a Dakar Yellow pinstripe ( not offered by Axis ) in keeping w/ the Special Edition theme .The std Axis Super Penta is a completely different yellow . I think I may be the first Dakar S/E w/ 20's....

The Super Penta's are special order for the M3 and all Penta's have a machined groove in them and they come w/ a choice of aval colors but their yellow they use is not even close to the Dakar Yellow so I had a local shop repaint the yellow to match the car ....this required a bit of effort because Axis uses a lettering paint and the stuff takes forever to harden and when we tried to scuff it down to apply a primer it just went all gummy and we risked damaging the matt black but with time we were able to do it and you see the result .....it's different and the car looks excellent rolling down the road at speed

The Special Editions do sit lower.....10mm lower than a stock M3

I think he means even lower. 10mm is not very much once you add 20's to the mix.

It would've been cool if you got the color matched reflectors while getting the stripes done on the wheels. Just my 2c

I hate to critic but why axis pentas? With all the extra money spent on the individual package, why not go for a more quality oriented wheel?
Please don't misunderstand, it doesn't look bad although it does need to be lowered. Just curious as to why you chose Axis? Enjoy the car. -Vin |
