Intake, headers, tune, 4.10 gears, you'll be hitting 60 in low 4s. Then they wont touch you. Total cost: around $5,000.
btw, did you happen to see what kind of Audi wagon it was? If it said RS6 on the back then of course it smoked you, it has a 600hp lamborgini engine in it.

Haha, the RS6 is stupid fast. One pulled up besides me at a stop light thinking I'd be game for a race, and ended up 100 ft. away before I realized the light had turned green.

Got the tune, headers, intake. What would a set of gears cost me? I really want to stay away from FI.

www.diffsonline.com I think you could get it done for under 1300. Thats what I'm shooting for.
-600 for the ring & pinion + ~495 for the diff rebuild kit (might be cheaper to get from your local shop) + the expensive fluid. -pull the diff myself & take it to a local shop -Local shop cracks it open, swaps gears & bearings & seals for ~400 (Total estimate. I have no idea since I've never had a diff worked on) - I benchpress it back into the car like starscream did |

3.91's ($199) are super cheap. Wonder how big a difference from 4.10's
Just got a quote from my Independent Beemer shop for 8hrs to rebuild(ouch) Just don't think I can trust AAMCO. you know?

http://www.dinancars.com/store/produ...cat=757&page=1 There's also the Turner Motorsport 4.10 Diff which is about $600 cheaper but I don't know about the warranty. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...3-DIFFERENTIAL You can also just buy the 4.10 gears directly and do the install yourself on the stock diff for $800 but you better be an expert. I'd say if you were going to do a 4.10 diff swap, Dinan, and have a shop do the swap, your total costs would be around $4,000-$4,500

There's no point in doing 3.91s. If you're going through all the trouble - get the best, get the 4.10s.

If it's just stop light wars you want to win, then I suggest the BOTTLE. This past weekend while going through the canyons I encountered an s2000 that looked pretty tracked out(wide wheels, slammed and rollbars) To my surprise I beat him on the twisties and he smoked me on the straights!! When I got next to him he blew off...cool guy cool car but if my bottle was open he would have been well behind me...
