Automatic folding mirror?
Hi,
Does the automatic folding (side) mirror work with the key fob? On my 07 E90 it work with the key fob. Press and hold the key it wil automatic open and close. This does not seems to work on the Z4. The mirrors only fold when press a button (at the windows controls). Is it possible to let it work? Can my dealer program this for me? Thanks Maaij |

I hope it can be programmed, this is a nice useful feature, but my technician says that no such arrangements can be executed. Get us some feedback if you manage it.

I had the same problem on delivery. I was so disappointed because I ordered for this option (431 - and I had it on my 320i E90) and the dealer told me that the setting can be done at their workshop but after leaving my car twice for fixing this , up till that moment they failed to sort this thing out. I claimed at BMW customer services but no answer. According to the dealer, the programme that they have is outdated and they need an upgrade for the new Z4 programming.
What a mess with BMW???? |

Check out this:
www.car-coding.de It 's in german and they can reprogramm many features including the folding mirrors. Their pricelist is reasonable too. (12 or 16 euros for that matter I think) Will contact them soon. |

I just made an appointment for the first week of december 2009. I am from The Netherlands and Car-coding is from Germany. It's pretty far away but he is in the neighborhood on the first week of december. That's why I have to wait a little longer

Is it BMW who are taking charge of that, I mean your local dealer. I presume that you have paid for this option, if this is the case then it's BMW technicians are responsible to fix it for free. In my case, I'm waiting for my dealer's feedback but I have already written to BMW customer services in Münich and Switzerland requesting their explanation.
