iDrive Movie
The delivery specialist at the Welt told me the car will play DVDs on the nav screen. Can anyone confirm that this works in the states or is it a Euro thing only? BTW, I read the manual...nothing

It works in the states. But once you put the car in motion the picture goes away and you only get sound.

The TVinMOTION module Tom@EAS mentions is *very* easy to install and works like a charm! Some people seem to be waiting for a plug-n-play option but in my opinion, even as it is, it would be simple to remove if one so desired. Also, as mentioned in the manual, it can be disabled through the blinker stalk so you'd probably never need to physically remove it anyway. :S Highly recommended (but don't watch while driving! ). Cheers, Ted |

Actually, EU customers are the main reason for making this happen - these are very popular overseas.

http://kufatec.com/ has a module for '09 and above that is plug and play. They said as long as DVDs play when the car is stopped it will work without any additional programming.

OK, I finally went out and tried to play a DVD today. I got it to start for a minute on one dvd and then it went to a black screen and it was just the sound. I tried a different dvd and only sound. So, I went back to the first dvd and again, I only had video for about a minute. What am I doing wrong?
