I certainly hope you aren't being sarcastic Andy.
You'd be surprised how many people don't know this...

That is actually 100% untrue. Vorsteiner does not work with DPE for their wheel manufacturing, they are entirely different. The only time Vorsteiner worked with DPE was for the first instances of their V-201 2-Piece Forged Series Wheels. All of their wheels now are manufactured independent from DPE.

Many DPE customers seem to be very happy with their products, and I haven't heard any seriuos complaints from Vorsteiner wheel customers either. So overall quality or delivery times can't be the reason... This is very interesting. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to make a few calls tommorrow...

By the way, in the interest of full disclosure... I really LIKE Vorsteiner, and I have purchased several parts from them over the past 4 years... Every part I have ever purchased from Vorsteiner has always been of top notch quality.

In regards to Nutek, Nutek never produced wheels for Vorsteiner either. The only 3rd party mainstream manufacturer Vorsteiner has used was DPE for their V-201 series wheel. This is no longer true however and has not been for quite some time. |

So Jim Dunphy at Nutek wheels was flat out lying huh? I haven't talked to Jo-Jo Cagungun for a while now, so I thought their relationship was still on-going. At least with DPE, their was a known quality element to their products. I use to talk to Jo-Jo all the time, but I lost touch a while back. I'll call Peter Nam tomorrow, and ask him why he switched. Thanks again for the heads up.

Nutek definitely doesn't make the Vorsteiner wheels, some people think they are made by Custom Wheels Solution as well, they are not using them either. Alot of the 3 piece companies don't do things inhouse either and use others to make the wheels for them.

Peter (nor anyone else) will not disclose to you why they chose to venture away from DPE. It is between them, and it was an amicable agreement from what I've been told. Also, to any of you who think you know who is making Vorsteiner's wheels: You're wrong. Trust me. The barrels are being made by the same industry-leading company that makes all the quality barrels for all the top dogs... you have that part correct (10 points to anyone who can scan my old posts and figure out the name of that company). The centers, however, are not being made where any of you think they are. And yes, they're made in the US. I can confirm that fact. Great quality wheels, though, and that's what's important. DPE's are awesome, too, for those of you wondering. Nick has the Vorsteiner, I have the DPE. We wouldn't put either on our car if we didn't 100% believe in the product. JL |

To answer the OP, I am getting the SL-5's from DPE delivered and installed this week... There will be pics. Oh yes, there will be picks. Custom color scheme and all. Look for OSS Designs M3 build thread on the photos page and there will be some teaser pics of my car and the wheels in question!
OP, DPE has been awesome from the start with me, and I don't have the wheels yet, but I am already in love. |

This is not a bad thing. I rather someone that knows how to make wheels make them then be part of a new wheel companies learning curve.
This is the same when it come to technology. My 2 cents worth. Both wheels look great |
