Comfort Access and Trunk Unlock

I have comfort access on my car. It works fine for unlocking doors, but unlocking the trunk is a different story.

It often takes multiple attempts and up to 30 secs sometimes for me to unlock the trunk by squeezing the sensor on the underside of the trunk lid. Sometimes I get frustrated and get my key out and just hold down the trunk button (which always works).

Anybody experience this problem?

Yes. Mine seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes it opens; sometimes I just open the front door and hit the trunk unlock button.

The unlock/lock range isn't so great either on my remote.

If my doors aren't unlocked, it takes about 3 seconds for my trunk to recognize the CA remote. If my doors are unlocked, it's immediate. My unlock range is good!

Yep, happens to me too. CA works about 80-90% of the time for the doors, less than 50% of the time for the trunk I'd guess.

That, a constant (erroneous) warning of 'Wiper Fluid low' that I've been to lazy to have addressed and the long, vague throws of the 6MT are my only minor complaints about the car.

Yeah it's a hit or miss also on my trunk, it's happens to me all the time when I get out of class and try to open my trunk first to put my books away. sometimes it opens and sometimes it doesn't , my SA can't find any faults and said it's in normal

I've noticed this as well with my trunk. I always just figured it was because of the tint.

Mine does the same and since I keep my key in my back pocket at all times, people are often giving me weird looks as I point my ass at the trunk to get it to open. It takes a minute, but it works.

Happened to me too, now I'm a little apprehensive about getting tint again. It was so frustrating when comfort access doesn't respond. But the lack of tint in south florida makes for a toasty interior.

Trunk is a little touchy. I keep my key in my right front pocket. If I open the trunk with my right hand (which usually means my right hip and pocket are closer to the trunk) it opens pretty much every time first try. If I open the trunk with my left hand though (which usually means my right hip and pocket are further from the trunk and somewhat screened from the car by my body) then it's a little iffy (50/50) and I usually have to shift my right pocket (with the key) closer to the trunk.

I know the description is a little gay, but that's what I've observed.

Sometimes I'll bring my keys out and hold it 1" away from the trunk sensor, and try to open the trunk...and that still fails to work. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I guess BMW would say that this is normal," yeah just how the DCT lag issue is "normal."
