04/12 Porsche Club Autocross in Sunrise, FL

What a blast for just $40.00!!!

This was my first autocross and this E90 M3 realy surprised me with its performance... this is a car that demands to be pushed!! There was no way that I was going to find out that this car can be steered with its throttle in a public street!! The handling was sublime, like it lost some 1000lbs in weight once it started moving. Totally predictable, buttoned down, smooth even. In one run I lit up the rear tires at the start like for 10-15ft while the M3 was going slowly side to side looking for traction, it was like some slo-mo, Matrix bullet-time, CGI trick!!!!

Damn Agents!!!

My best time set up was with DSC off, suspension Sport, steering Sport, throttle Sport Plus.

Other than the tires (General Exclaim UHP) not being good at all in this parking lot at any limit, the OEM brakes and pads really surprised me with no apparent fade and really a great bite, and they were used a lot as there was no straights longer than 30ft in this course. No overheating, no EDC malfunctions with the Eibachs after 8 full blast runs.

I don't want to know how this sucker will do with some real track tires and pads, that's going into the money-hole!!! If any of you have a chance to go to an autocross especially for the first time, just do it...

cool I also did a AutoX yesterday but didn't have as many nice cars as you did there...I learned loads about me & what my car can handle definitely going to go and do as many AutoX's as I can, I'll have vids up as soon as I edit them...

no kidding aside, there was a 135 coupe at the NYC auto show that looked exactly like one above. spoiler and everything...almost a carbon copy

why? after I turned DSC off my times dropped ever session it caused me to be smoother so I wouldn't disrupt it too too much, did I slide a little heck yeah but it was my first autox and I really wanted to get a feeling for the car and how it behaved w/out DSC, the times when MDM kicked it during my first two runs & 1 later run, it slowed me down way to much for my liking...smoothness is key

I'm sure what he meant is don't turn it off WHILE DRIVING!

that's what I did, and as soon as e-lsd kicked in I went into a full spin out! I had DSC off and had turned off the car while in line waiting, and turned it on and forgot to deactivate it....while doing my run, I noticed the car was very ho-hum, so I tried to re-deactivate while driving.....not a good idea!
